I just recently came across a website called www.goodguide.com
It's a site dedicated to helping consumers choose products that are healthy, safe, and have low impact on our environment. They have three ratings for products--
--Health Rating. This is usually specific to food, and is self-explanatory.
--Society Rating. Does the company that makes the product pay fair wages? Have health benefits?
--Environmental Rating. Does the company care about its impact on the world? Does it take the appropriate measures to reduce its carbon footprint?
It's a cool site that should help you make more responsible purchases.
